Smiley

Everett is now 6.5 weeks old and is smiling a LOT now! Of course mommy is not the photographer of the family and every time I try to snap a pic I end up with some blurry open mouth face shot but miss the smile! I'll have dad get on that project soon!

You can tell that all he wants to do is run and chase puppies and throw rocks and catch frogs... he doesn't stop wiggling and we are still working on the nap thing... it's like he just doesn't want to miss anything!

His eyes are still a dark gray blue. I'm surprised they are staying blue for so long I thought for sure they would turn brown like his daddy's or green like mine, but they may stay blue which would be beautiful!

Here are the lousy pics mama took:

Another big milestone for Everett (mostly because he gets to live now...just kidding!) he has begun to sleep through the night! For the past three nights he has been sleeping from 10:30 or 11 PM to 5:30 AM! This is HUGE! It means that mom and dad get to sleep in the same room all night, and that Everett gets a really good rest since he doesn't sleep much during the day.

We used a book titled "Becoming Baby Wise". We are a schedule oriented family so it worked well for us! We'll see in 20 years when he discovers abandonment issues in therapy!

Pants that Button and Zip

I don't care if they are a size I will not even whisper. My new jeans have a zipper and button and even belt loops! I couldn't do it anymore, I could not go one more day in those damn maternity pants, I hope I will not have to wear them again for quite some time.

Future of ROCK!

I think we have the next Mick Jagger on our hands!!

Look at him holding onto the swing like such a big boy! :-)

No naps for big boy Everett!

Everett doesn't sleep... EVER!! His naps are maybe 45 minutes long if I'm lucky (aren't newborns supposed to sleep for 2 hours at a time?) He will have a couple good chunks of sleep at night sometimes but lately he's decided even that is not his cup of tea. Unless he is being cuddled... he will be awake sometimes happy mostly fussy. It is making his mommy and daddy CRAZY!! Any sage wisdom or advice from those that have been there?!

He will be one month old tomorrow and has already changed so much, he's aware of his surroundings and loves to stare and coo at his daddy. Pretty soon he will be smiling and sharing his joy with us! He's strong too, holds his head up and will look over your shoulder when he burps.

We are hoping to get up to Portland soon to visit everyone up north. Probably not until February though. For now we are just trying to survive!

We hope everyone had a happy new year! We are looking forward to an "uneventful" 2008! We are excited to just get to know our son and get back to our normal life + 1!
